The Energy Assistance
Program targets at-risk families that meet the income guidelines
for one time assistance with the high cost of home heating
during the winter months. Air conditioners (at risk only with
approved Doctor’s note) or electric credits may be provided to
qualifying households in the summer.

Local Warmth Projects, such as annual walks, concerts and
breakfasts raise local funds to assist households with heating
assistance. Projects are planned and conducted by steering
committees in participating counties.

Utility Company Projects, also,
provide local funds to assist households with heating
assistance. These can include Helping Hand by Duke, Heart Lite (REMC),the
Gift of Warmth/Nipsco Program,
Winter Warmth through NIPSCO and I&M Energy Share Program.
